THE ARTS AND ENTERTAINMENT ARE ALIVE DOWNTOWN

Since its earliest days as Georgia's first capital city, downtown Louisville has enjoyed a thriving cultural and educational life.  Today that tradition lives on . . . and is growing.  For generations The Pal Theater on Broad Street has brought quality "moving pictures" to downtowners and it still does today -- but with a delicious twist.  The art scene is thriving too at The Fire House Gallery in the old fire station on Mulberry Street and through the work of the Arts Guild of Jefferson County.  Visit Broad Street's new entertainment venue, The Bistro, for musical entertainment. And if you prefer theater, just make the short drive to Bartow to take in a production of the School House Players, featuring the acting skills of many Louisville downtowners.

THE ARTS GUILD OF JEFFERSON COUNTY

Now in its sixth successful year of setting the standard for arts participation in Jefferson County and the surrounding area, the Arts Guild will build on its reputation and offerings by adding a permanent exhibition space this summer in the Abbot and Stone Building as it is transformed into the Twisted Sisters antiques emporium, gallery, and eatery.  Friends and the Gallery are delighted by the prospect of having the Guild move in right next door.   As soon as the Guild is settled into its new space, we'll put up a photo spread right here.  Till then, you can learn how to join the Guild and attend its regular monthly meetings by calling The Fire House Gallery at 478.265.0387 or shooting an email to the Gallery.
